This map represents a concept of what the Northwest end of Markham Ravine will look like when its natural wetlands and riparian habitat has been returned to a balanced ecosystem, and a multi-use trail system has been developed.

This is a preliminary concept map provided by Foothill Associates in their Markham Ravine Corridor Enhancement Project.  This map was included in thier proposal submitted to the Lincoln City Council which was approved for funding in 2004.

Only the proposed construction phase 1 and phase 2 elements are represented in this map. Changes may, and probably, will be made based upon Foothill Associates analysis and findings during 2004-2006.

This map represents the total Markham Ravine Project Area, including Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and Foskett Ranch.

Phase III depicted by the green and blue shaded regions will focus on the Southern end of Markham Ravine, south of Nicolaus Rd, north of 5th Street, bordering along Joiner Parkway.

Markham Ravine also passes through the lumber mill and the Foskett Ranch property to the east.  The Foskett Ranch area of Markham Ravine will be funded by the developers.  However, plans to connect both trails systems are already underway.

Additional Notes

Foothill Associates is now in the process of conducting aerial photography of the total Markham Ravine area. These photographs will be used to create additional maps, which will then be displayed on our website.

Eventually, we will also have a map showing the complete Markham Ravine area, depicting how it connects to the other ravines and creeks in and outside of Lincoln, including Auburn Ravine and Coon Creek. We may even be able to include maps which allow for separate overlay views of the proposed trail systems, and the riparian habitat creeks and vegetation.
